15-18 April Grand Traverse Resupply at Giant's Castle: Help resupply this year's GT team at the top of Bannerman Pass and enjoy a long weekend escarpment hike to boot. Climb Popple Peak and/or Mafadi (the highest peak in South Africa at 3 446 metres) and return via Judge Pass. 19-22 April (4) Bushman's Nek: 3-night stay using the Bushman's Nek Hut as the base for day hikes each day. Beautiful area with unlimited number of day hikes available – rivers, pools, waterfalls and Bushman paintings. Only about 1,4 km backpacking to reach the hut. 11-12 June (2) Witsieshoek:
Day 1: Climb to the summit of the Sentinel.
This hike involves rock climbing with the aid of ropes over exposed sections at high altitude, therefore a head for heights is required.
Robert Sprouse (aka Bugs) is an experienced climber and has kindly offered to lead the climbing section. A minimum of 6 hikers is required for this hike to take place and a maximum of 10 can be accommodated. Spend the night in the Sentinel Caves.
Day 2: Optional day hike to Tugela Falls via the chain ladders and back.
