19-20 February (2) Garden Castle: Rhino Peak - Eastern Arete (variation).​ ​A great opportunity to climb this route with Gavin. One pitch of roped climbing (D grade or 8) and scrambling involved. Overnight in Pillar Cave Annex. Fitness and an ability to handle exposure are essential. 9-23 April Grand Traverse: Sentinel Car Park to Bushman's Nek. This is the Club's premier hiking route requiring a high degree of hiking fitness, endurance and determination. Overnight hiking experience on the escarpment and in all weather is essential. 15-18 April Grand Traverse Resupply: Help resupply this year's GT team at the top of Bannerman Pass and enjoy a long weekend escarpment hike to boot. Climb Popple Peak and/or Mafadi (the highest peak in South Africa at 3 446 metres) and return via Judge Pass.
