7-8 March Highmoor to Giant's Castle via the contour path (31km). Overnight in the chalets. Return to Highmoor via the management track, Pine Rangers Hut and Caracal Cave (19km). Approximate cost is R1300 bed and breakfast for 2-bed chalet. The 174km route passes through France, Italy and Switzerland with snow frosted peaks and glaciers, high mountain passes, magnificent valleys and alpine pastures.

26-Mar Dr George Hughes is an author, ex Drakensberg Ranger, founder of the turtle research centres in Zululand. He will speak on environmental lessons learnt. Details of his talk will follow.
