Cathedral Peak: On 17 July 1936, a small group of hikers slept on the summit of Cleft Peak - a first for the Drakensberg (see Dragon's Wrath). Up to that date, this had been considered impossible. To remember these pioneers, and to celebrate their courage, we plan on sleeping on the summit of Cleft Peak (3281 m) on the night of 17 July 2021 - the 85th anniversary. |

| Day 2: With a little shortcut on the road, we end the day at Swiman Hut, after a late lunch at the Gooderson Hotel. |
| Day 3: Finish the trail at Bushman's Nek |

| Saturday: Drive to Witsieshoek Mountain Lodge and spend the night at the resort. |
| Sunday: Day hike from the Sentinel Car Park to Mount-Aux-Sources via the chain ladder and back to spend the second night at the lodge. Only a day pack is required. |
| Monday: Drive back home. |
| Backpackpackers accommodation cost is R500 or R650 if breakfast is included. Costs are per person per night. |

Bushman's Nek (mid-week hike): Celebrate winter in style! Backpack to Bushman's Nek Hut (1,4 km) for a 2-night stay. Beautiful day hikes from this base to see waterfalls, Bushman paintings, caves and pools. Hut has lockable rooms with bunk beds, mattresses, flush toilets and cold showers. Bookings close Friday 6 August. Hut fee is R240 (R120 pppn X 2 nights). |
